snowflake quesadilla

Have I mentioned how much I love the ready bake tortilla dough?  Since it is dough, it is pliable enough to fold many times to cut into .... oh, something like a snowflake.  how cool is that?
I use these a lot in the lunches because
A.  my son has a wierd freaky thing for quesadillas.  Even plans to open a quesadilla restaurant one day (be on the lookout for a 'quesadilla house' opening near you in.... oh...... say 15 years).
and B.  It is SO versatile.

This lunch has two quesadilla snowflake sandwiches, one on top of the other, tortilla stars made from the dough scraps, half an apple, carrots with blue cheese dip, and ants on a log.

  1. That is amazing! I didn't know you could get tortilla dough like that. Kidlet loves quesadilla so we will be very happy to see a quesadilla house in the future!

  4. Very cool! We eat tons of tortillas (after all Hubby is Mexican), so how come I've never seen these? Where are they in the store? The cold section? I buy the premade ones constantly and make the homemade ones when I'm feeling really sweet. And, I can't wait for Quesadilla House to open near me, we'd go for sure!

  5. I found them at costco! they are not organic, but the ingredient label is all natural stuff.

  6. Thanks for the inspiration! I made some quick snowflake quesadillas for my daughter today. I need to upgrade to Laptop 2.0; I like that new big size container. Hard to fit much in the little ones ( I know you can just not put them in there, sometimes I do that.) I also think the Quesadilla House is a great idea! Like a creperie - you can have so many kinds of fillings!

  8. I have been trying to catch up and read all of your blog. I wanted to tell you about the lunch meat I have been trying to use. It is made by Hormel and it doesn't have any nitrates. I have been trying to avoid lunch meat altogether but the ingredients in this one seem better than the rest.

  9. Jack's mom - LOVE the 2.0! so glad you made the snowflakes for your daughter!! that is so cool to hear.

Mel - we are still a work in progress over here!

Frosty - I will certainly look into that! I've been buying just the turkey or chicken lunch meats with less of an ingredient list. I have mostly been getting primotaglio or boar's head.
