Today we broke out our semi-new (bought it a while back, used it once) Zoku Popsicle maker. Nothing frugal about this one. I had been eyeballing it at the store I pretend to be rich at every time I walk in Williams-Sonoma. It cost more money than I would every think of spending for a Popsicle maker. BUT the big draw - you get your Popsicles in under 10 minutes, not 12-24 hours!
We live in Texas. It is hot. We are home a lot in the summer. It is cheaper than an in-ground swimming pool.
That my friends is justification at it's finest.
Today the kids made pomegranate, peach mango cream Popsicles. They loved 'em!
Awww, you can't post that and not give us a recipe! They look so yummy!!!
ReplyDeletelol. no real recipe... just used a few different flavors of juice. we picked up a few of the 100% v8 fusion juices while on a walmart run today. not organic, but best thing we could find at walmart today.
ReplyDeleteI think the flavors were acai pomegranate, then a layer of orange mango mixed with vanilla yogurt to give it a 'cream' flavor/consistency. The two layers blended together a bit (the reason for the pink area).
yum!
I am so going to have to go out and get this popsicle-maker. Off to see the damage of how much it costs. Your blog rocks!
ReplyDeleteWe LOVE our Zoku!! I use it at least every other day...It was a splurge but totally worth it!
ReplyDeleteYour green smoothie makes a great popsicle by the way!
We also do a lot of pureed fruits and I add just a bit of Agave Nectar. My two year old loves them!
julia - I think you are the one who mentioned your little guy loved those when he was sick. You helped steer me towards buying the zoku - glad you did!
ReplyDeleteThose look amazing and I want one NOW!
ReplyDeleteI want one! How did I not realize you lived in the Dallas area???
ReplyDeleteshannon - I think we are west of you. We are out by the TM speedway, north of ft. worth.
ReplyDeleteI think you're closer to where my husband works. He's a realtor, but his main office is in Southlake, they do tons of Tarrant County stuff. We're over in Frisco (we moved here when he was still with a builder).
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got one too! It'll be great for the summer. We are still playing with recipes but it has been a blast so far :)
ReplyDeletekeep me updated on your favs :)
